Creative Spark Fall 2014 is now available!

Creative Spark Fall is here...come check out all the amazing creations by the designers from ZnetShows..me included!  A handful of designers were asked to make something fun using Fall colors.  Here is a picture of the bead mix I chose.

 I created this fun bracelet from memory wire (found on page 27)...  I am currently working on the tutorial for making the matching necklace (VIDEO), but for now, here is the picture.. Yes, time is running out for Valentines day...I think I am going to go to Rocky Mountain Chocolate and find something a little fun for hubby.  He is a chocolate-aholic.  Hehehe..

I recently posted a few of my heart designs in my Hand Made Artist shop if you want to take a peek!  They are sooo pretty.  I really think the bracelet is fun. It makes a little music when you wear it...the beads have a tune of their own!

Into the Forest Blog Hop Reveal!

Ok, so here it is...finally got all of my designs made.  Lisa Lodge, an awesome jewelry designer, offered this challenge to all us other designers. She gave us some beautiful beads to work with...below are my creations. I will admit, I had a bit of a difficult time figuring out something different with these beads.  I didn't want a typical necklace or even a typical bracelet.  I guess that's the fun of creating...LOL  

Here are my two pieces I created with the yummy beads...

I found these fun metal leaves at Joann fabrics.  I really like that I was able to add a little dangle of beads on the bottom.  I used Tim Holtz metal patina to add some fun to the leaves...

I used some sari silk strips and braided them and wrapped them around the loops.  I then used the seed beads to make simple rings around the wire which I wrapped to hold the sari silk on the loop.  I used copper wire through out to hold all of the beads together.

I didn't really have enough of the larger beads to create what I was thinking of doing, so I decided to do a crazy kumihimo bracelet instead.  I mixed in some black glass beads to add more depth to both my pieces...

7000 Bracelets of HOPE

Znetshows has invited all of their designers to join them in supporting THE GLOBAL GENES PROJECT in creating bracelets in support for all those who are affected with rare and unusual genes. We were given a choice of two different beads, pearls and crystals, all in blue.  Once we chose our beads, they were quickly sent to us.  We had less than 2 weeks to create our bracelets. Today I shipped mine off.  I chose to use the magic stretch so my bracelets would be a little more flexible for different sized wrists. I used a variety of  metal components to add a little more bling to the bracelets.

This is the front view of the bracelets.  After I finished making the bracelets, I still thought they were a little plain.  I went through a box of my fabric and found this awesome piece of blue jean material.  I tore strips and tied them around on one end of the clasp.

This is the backside.  It looks really busy here but they really are much prettier with the fabric strips tied on.

Now you can see each bracelet here.  The theme used by the Global Genes Project is jeans.  So I needed to make sure that not only the blue was used in the bracelets but a hint of jean material...

I made some cards to go along with the bracelets.  I used one of the support badges and I found this beautiful saying and added it to the card.

I attached the cards with the same strips of jean material onto the bracelets and packed them into a box and off the went today.

Ahhh... Finished! Jujubee Bracelet

While siting and watching the Giants lose... I finally finished making my Jujubee Bracelet with the Mini Conch beach glass beads from Znetshows. I have made bracelets with this technique before and they always turn out so pretty.  Normally though I use smaller beads, but I just love how this bracelet turned out.  Its slightly heavy, but it makes music when you wear it.  I dont know what it is about jewelry that makes music that fascinates me.  I think of work I suppose, you can always hear certain people walking down the hall and you know who it is by the sounds/music that they make.  We wear lanyards a lot, and with keys hanging off of the lanyards along with other fun things, we all seem to make some kind of sound/music while walking.  Anyway...my mind is wandering because its late at night and my brain is a little on the slow mode!  LOL  I just had to put the pictures up so you can see how the bracelet turned out...

Busy Creating some fun stuff...

My how time has flown.  Its already nearly Thanksgiving and next is Christmas. I have been quite busy making all kinds of new jewelry.  New bullet earrings, lots of copper earrings and a few stitched bracelets and more...  I also made these super cool rings out of some heavy guage wire.  I will show you more of these once I get all the photos taken.  But for now...I thought I would share with you this beautiful bracelet I am working on.  I am going to make a matching ring and another set done in pink.  I still need to finish the fringe on both sides, but I should be done soon. I will be adding a fun huge glass bead on the end which is wrapped with a string of beads...its hard to explain how it hooks but its like a criss cross.  I will show you more on the next picture when I am finished.  Enjoy!!!

Happy New Year!

Ok, so Im a little late, but you know....really...its alright!  LOL  Ive been busy trying to figure out what my new year is going to bring me!  I made a really cool bracelet so far, joined an art journal group, re-upped my subscription to Doll Street Journal, made more stitch markers today, and joined a gym!  So, I think my new year will be a good one!  Here is my newest bracelet I thought I would share with you first since it is done...LOL  It is mine, and not for sale.  I do like to keep what I make sometimes...hehehe...  Hope you like it!  OH, just so you know, I am also working on another little article about photographing your art!  Just some things I have learned over the past few years of doing my own photography and some of the obstacles I have come across...Give me another week or two for the first part of the article.  It will be worth the wait I promise!
