Im not sure yet to name this one....

Ok, I created another doll. She is so pretty. I found these really neat bottles bundled up with wire at a thrift store and just had to have them. I cut the wire, cleaned up the bottles and got to work. This one is the first one I made of the 4. She is blue and green...and has these nice fake flowers for the hair...I found these flowers in a box I had just for all of the silk/fake flowers. Im so glad I save this stuff! Anyway, each flower has a small bead glued in the centers. She is basically made the same way as my other dolls... just she doesnt have any legs.. I think it would be too much if I put lets on her. I would love to get some ideas as to what to name her. I will think of something eventually, but I am so slow. I have another doll which I will post once I get the photo cropped and color corrected....

Tues, when we went back to work after Thanksgiving...I was walking to the classroom and saw this ugly but very interesting mushroom. It was huge! I got all excited about taking a picture of it..but realized I did not have my camera. So, I used the schools camera but the picture sucked! I could not get a close up photo with that camera. So I had to wait til yesterday to take the photo...so when I got to work, I was all geared up to take this picture of the ugly mushroom...and when I looked at it...it changed! It is still ugly, but it drooped and was dripping this black stuff on the ground. So I thought I would take the picture anyways...I do like how it turned out even though it was not as exciting looking as the day before. So I thought I would share this funny looking mushroom...I like it! :-)

If anybody knows what kind of mushroom this is, please let me know...

Sheila Fairy Doll

Sheila's doll was also fun to make. Actually all of my dolls have been really fun for me to create. Sometimes I dont know what I am going to add to them so they will sit on my table..and I will look at them each day and finally something will come to mind. This is one like that. I had her head made and her body...but wasnt sure what to add for the hair. Then finally little by little she came together. I found this golden colored hair extension at the dollar store of all places and just had to have it! I knew exactly what I was going to do with it...so instead of her having wings....she has this wild hairdo... I added a cute ring with a green stone in her hair... I was on this shopping spree on Ebay one day....well...maybe it was more than one day...just dont tell my husband...Hehehe...anyway, I ordered a bunch of charms and beads, and findings...and so on...great prices! And so that is how I ended up with the cute hand charm on her. Even though its upside down...it makes her unique! One of my biggest problems I have had all these years...is I could never mass produce an item. I did crafts for many years with my best friend who now lives in NY...and we did some mass producing of our crafts....but I got bored so easily...I cant do the same thing over and over...I will search to all ends of the world if I have to to come up with something different. My mind is always thinking...dont know if that is a bad thing or not...but I cant shut it off...so you will see more and more of my creations.. These dolls are all new to me, I havent been making them long at all. I think its only been a few months now that I have been putting these together. So, I have a long way to go before I move on to something new...cuz I really like how these are turning out...

As always, I would love to get some feedback on my artwork, so please drop me a line when you get a chance...

:-)

Cindy Fairy DOll

This doll was sooo much fun for me to make. I made her for my sister Cindy for her birthday. She loves blacks and reds. Her kitchen is done in the Coca Cola motif and her livingroom is done in a really nice warm red. So I thought this doll would fit right in. Most of my dolls have crocheted wire skirts as this one but with different yarns. All my dolls have little to large TA TA's, the bigger the better...LOL On this doll, I decided to do something a litte different and added a flower to the top of her head to kind of create a hat. Then I thought it needed something else and added the wire and little dangle...sure made a difference! As for the hands, I found a black hand glass bead and it suited her quite well. My sister really liked her when I gave it to her...

Blue Fairy Doll

This is one of my fairy bottle dolls. I created her for my sisters sons girlfriend for Christmas. Her head piece is crocheted organza ribbon. She is really cute in person!

Ok, I am confused. I made a change to my posts and it ended up deleting all of my images!!! Weird. So, I need to do this again. This is a mural which a group of us ladies are painting in a kids waiting area at Safe Quest.

I was asked to do a painting by a very nice lady from Hawaii. She wanted me to paint her niece into a mermaid. I did a couple of line drawings and figured which one would best suite her. Here is the result of that painting. The background is done in acrylics and the rest is done with oils. The paintings name is Bryanna!

Well, I have been quite busy these days, so I am finally sitting down to add to my blog. I started creating these really cute dolls over the past 2 months and they seem to be quite popular. So I thought I would start putting them here to show off a little. They are quite fun to make and can be done up as wild as I want them to be. The dolls are made out of small bottles with a cork top. Now that I said that, these will make more sense to you...

New to Blogging

I am new to blogging so please hang in there while I get used to this. My name is Chris and I have been doing artsy stuff for years. I thought it would be fun to share my ideas and art with others. I have a website which is in the process of being created.... http://www.wingsnscales.com where you can see more of my stuff. I am really hoping to get it in tip top shape in a couple of weeks. It is taking me a long time to put together. I have been having some issues with my galleries, its just a matter of figuring it out what I am doing wrong. UGH!

I am excited about this blog and I hope you like what I have to share.

Thank you for stopping by!

Chris
